Step into the captivating world of Aja Moyé, a Singer/Songwriter hailing from Hartford, CT, whose journey spans intimate regional performances to world-class stages worldwide. With a voice as clear as a bell and lyrics that carry a raw, unfiltered intensity, Aja draws inspiration from the tapestry of everyday life: infusing her songs with the essence of human connection and shared existence. Her musical prowess is a testament to the rich influences that have shaped her: from classical training to deep dives into the realms of classic R&B/Soul and the intricate artistry of traditional jazz (Aja is a proud graduate of the renowned Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the University of Hartford). Aja's highlights include singing for President Obama, opening for Grammy-Winning Artist, Melanie Fiona, and headlining the premiere NYE performance at MGM Cotai in Macau, China. As Vocalist-in-Residence at Langham Place Hotel in Hong Kong, she enchanted audiences for months. Hartford Public Library’s history spans more than 235 years. We can trace its very beginnings to the Library Company, formally organized in 1774 by a few subscribers to purchase a "collection of useful and religious books". And now, the library is a national leader in redefining the urban public library in the 21st century as an innovative and stimulating place where people can learn and discover, explore their passions, and find a rich array of resources that contribute to a full life.
